The top 3 things I want out of the Nintendo NX console.

I’m the type of person who enjoys all the major consoles from the major developers, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. I generally have my favorite (in the case of the current console war it’s the PS4) but overall I enjoy them all and all of their games and abilities. But I have to say I’m very underwhelmed with the Wii U overall. Granted, I do enjoy some of the games on it an the off TV play is really enjoyable, but I really feel like Nintendo has dropped the ball on this console in several major ways. And I’m really Pad gamehoping they fix the issues I have with it with their new NX platform that’s rumored to possibly arrive in 2016. Time will tell on that part, which I’m very much hoping, but what I want from it won’t change no matter which year it finally arrives. There are 3 things that I really want to see changed so let’s just get to it.

1. I want to see better third party support. I’m not saying we don’t see it to some extent one the Wii U, but that type of support is very sorely lacking in comparison to the PS4 and Xbox One. Sure, Nintendo has the largest first party lineup of the big three, and that is a major plus, but my favorite games are third party games and I’m sick and tired of Nintendo dropping the ball here. Sorry, Mario isn’t enough to keep me around, no matter how incredible his games are. If Nintendo had a console out that had all of their first party games and a ton of great third party games I’d be a very happy camper. This is something the NX needs.

2. Faster hardware. I’m not smart enough to know all of the differences between one console and the other and why any one is faster than another, I’ll fully admit that. But I don’t need to be to see the speed differences between any one and the other, and the Xbox One and PS4 smoke the Wii U. That’s a Camaro and Mustang vs a Camry. Sure the Wii U gets you from one place to another but it’s so slow! I can on my PS4 go from being in the middle of a game, hit the home button, instantly be on the home page and go the PS Store to check something, and be back to the game all within a very short period of time. The Wii U? Yeah right, you can’t do anything on that console in a fast manner, at least it’s not as fast. That may be a silly want but that needs to be something the NX features; faster hardware that lets me navigate between games and whatever else at a fast pace. There is no excuse for their next hardware to be behind the current offerings from Microsoft and Sony.

3. Good graphics. I know, graphics don’t make a game, I’ve heard that so many times that if I see it again I’ll likely implode. Just keep this in mind: if graphics weren’t important we’d all be playing Pong right now. Graphics are important in games. Not the most important thing, by any means, but they are important. And I’d like to see the next Nintendo console do a better job at displaying games in a higher visual. Some of the big third party games I would have liked to see on the Wii U couldn’t be done because the game was too powerful for the console and it didn’t make financial sense to dumb the games visuals down for the Wii U. That’s unacceptable. I never want that to happen again, I want the NX to be a powerhouse that graphically speaking is as good or even better than any other home console. Nintendo can do it if they have an interest and I certainly hope they do.

There are more things I’d like to see but those are the main ones for sure, but I know you’ve got some right? Whatever it is you want out of the NX be sure to let me know in the comments! Hopefully we all get what it is we want.

*EDIT: Since there’s no known picture of the NX I’m just going to be using a Wii U pic, since that’s the step that Nintendo is going to be on when making this eventual move*
