I’ve done a few posts over the years (wow, this site has been up a while!) about wishlists and posting some of the upcoming games I’d like to have in order not only to share my desires but maybe even help those of you that read the posts to have an idea for a game you didn’t think about before. But it’s not all about the upcoming games, it is also about the current lineup each of us already has! I have a massive backlog of games but recently I’ve bought some games across all of my consoles so I’m just going to take some time and share some of my latest purchases, and please, feel free to share some of your latest as well!
PS4: Dark Cloud 2. This game is a classic PS2 game that I spent a lot of hours on when I was younger but it has been since then that I last played it until the other day, when I elected to look into the PS2 games on PS4. It’s as much fun as I remember it and the graphics bump makes this game look great. Sure, it’s no mainstream PS4 game as far as how it looks, but it’s not supposed to be either so it’s not a big deal. I highly recommend this game if you have a PS4.
Tales of Zestiria. I love all of the Tales of…games that I’ve played. Xillia, Xillia 2 (my favorite 2), Graces F, the Abyss, Hearts R, and now this one. I don’t know what it is about these games but I love them all very much. Xillia and 2 take the lead as my favorites but all in all I’ve yet to put time into one of these universes and was disappointed afterwards and so far, about 15 hours into Zestiria, I have to say this is a fun game as well. If you’re a Tales of fan I recommend you get this game!
Batman The TellTale Series. I love all Batman games as well. Well I say all, I really mean the Arkham games and their spin offs. But yes I was excited to see this particular Batman game come into play (pun intended) because not only do you play as the Bat but also as Bruce, and as you’d expect your choices you make change how the game goes and how Batman/Bruce is perceived. I LOVE it so far, with episode 1 fully being finished for me. This game is so much fun that it would be a crime to have a console that can play it and you skip it. Of course I’m a huge Batman fan so that helps my love of it tremendously. But still it’s a fun game so I recommend it.
Smartphone: Okay I didn’t buy any new smartphone game per-se, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen new experiences on it that are worth your time, I think. Pokemon Go. Need I say any more? This game is taking the world by storm right now and even with issues plaguing it currently (looking square at you tracking problems) it still has over 30 million daily players (for now anyways). The game will undoubtedly be improved with time so give it a go and stick with it, you can be sure that it’ll get some enhancements in the future that makes it even better! It’s fun to play and you get to meet tons of different players when you go out and about, so what’s not to love?
Wii U: Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2. Do I even have to explain why these are great games? No, they aren’t new by any means, but new to you on a particular console is still new in a way. These games are classics that are some of the best games you’ll ever play, any time anywhere. It’s not just bias that says that, the Donkey Kong Country games are just absolute gems in every sense of the word, more than worth your purchase if you don’t have them.
PS3: Tales of Xillia 2. This one is a bit technical because I did own the game before but then I lost it a while back so I re-bought it and actually finished the game, picking up where I had left off. This game is a lot of fun especially if you play from Xillia as well, continuing the story. This game is a lot of fun and offers a good amount of challenge and extras to pursue post game and has a good New Game Plus option and games with great replay value are always a good thing.
That’s the gist of the new games I’ve bought recently and I truly do think you’d be happy if you bought any of them you could. But what about you? What games have you bought recently and would recommend? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
