PlayStation Now Subscription and other tidbits.

This post is all about a few random game things that have been going on lately! I’ve spent some time talking about the PlayStation Now (or PS Now) service and about how great it is. So far it has been pretty good so far. I’ve enjoyed using the service on my Vita and then pairing up my game on the PS4, picking up right where I left off. It has been enjoyable. I’ve mentioned that you need a good internet signal in order to use it so again, be sure you have this before pursuing this course. Especially if you’re interested in the PS Now Subscriptions that just started running. It’s not available everywhere yet and it’s currently only on the PS4, but I’ve given it a shot and have to say that I like it so far!

The service only costs $20 per month or $45 every three months, so the price is pretty good overall, especially for what you get out of it. Even now, with the fewest games the service will see (since more will be added in the future) you have over 100 games you can play for any amount of time. Basically you own these games as long as you have Smartphone gamethe service running! It’s still not quite the same as having a physical disc in your hands, and it’s fully dependent on good internet, but if those aren’t issue to you then you have a great thing here. I lost my Uncharted 1 when moving from Texas to North Carolina, and I didn’t realize it until a few days back, but I saw that the game was one of the 100 plus games you can play under the subscription and it was great because I instantly had it back! Add to that the fact that there are other games and more planned for the future and you have a great deal here. Make sure you have good internet and if you do then I highly recommend this path for you, especially if you missed playing some great PS3 games.

I’ve also been playing some Sonic Dash on my smartphone. I love this game because it’s simple yet complex. You run forward and avoid obstacles. That’s it. It’s harder than it sounds, but the premise of the game is very straightforward like the good old Sonic games so I love it. Sonic Jump and Sonic Jump Fever are awesome games as well, but only this game has you actually running and jumping, which is a norm in Sonic games. I’m hoping that the recently unveiled Sonic Runners smartphone game is similar and is a fun game. Maybe it can be more of a side scroller running game like the older Sonic games? I don’t want to assume what the game will be like but if it follows the Dash path in any way I think it’ll be worth downloading.

The other thing that I’ve been thinking about lately is getting a new N64, or in my case my first ever one. I’ve played the console at my cousins house extensively in the past but that was years ago. I’ve been thinking that I’d like to get the console and Donkey Kong 64. I’ve enjoyed Donkey Kong for years and I remember enjoying DK64 so it would be really nice to have it in the house! And I think Nintendo needs to release the Donkey Kong Country original trilogy on the Wii U e-shop in North America. Those games seem to be out all around the world but here so it would be nice to have! I know I’d buy and download the games day one if they make their way out, but only time can tell if that’ll happen or not.
