My favorite smartphone games.

There are a massive amount of games and apps available on smartphones right now. I could never begin to imagine using all of the apps that are out there, simply because there are so many to choose from. Whether from major companies or normal people like you and me, there are millions of apps out there to search through. In searching through several games I have found quite a few that are actually very enjoyable. They may not have the bite, if you will, of home console games, but they are a lot of fun. At least they are to me. The beauty of there being so many options is that if you don’t like a certain game then you have a major group to choose from to see what you like. But as with most people, I have a list of apps and games that I really enjoy the most, and I’m going to mention them here. Maybe you’ve not checked them out before and have something new to look for? We’ll see!

The first set of smartphone games I enjoy the most, by far, is Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. These games are my top pick for a few reasons. I started off my gaming life with Sonic 2, and eventually went to Sonic 1 and enjoyed it a lot as a kid as well. They are fun video games, which is always good when looking for something to play. And there are bonuses with these versions that don’t exist anywhere else. Sonic 2 has the missing Hidden Sonic 1Palace Zone on the smartphone version of the game, and that is just plain awesome. It’s like getting a brand new Sonic Genesis game in this day, in a way. You can’t beat that in my opinion. I also enjoy the Sonic Jump games and Sonic Dash. Sonic Dash makes a bit more sense for Sonic, since you’re running forward constantly until you eventually fall off the land or die, while Sonic Jump has you jumping into the sky until a certain point. Sonic CD is also a great smartphone game. And if you don’t like touch controls on games like Sonic 1/2/CD you can always buy a controller that connects via bluetooth to your phone, that way you are able to play it the same way you’d play a console game!

As much fun as the Sonic games are, they aren’t the only smartphone games that I enjoy. I also enjoy more casual games like Cookie Jam and Hay Day. They aren’t as good as the Sonic games, at least to me, but they are a lot of fun. If you’re patient you don’t have to spend any money on the games to make progress and they are simple yet challenging, which makes games fun to me. Easy to pick up, hard to master. I don’t know how hard either game gets as you make a ton of progress, since I’m still fairly new at both, but I can definitely see that they pick up in difficulty as you go. I also have a few Final Fantasy games too (FFIV and FF Dimensions). They are a lot of fun and play very well on my phone. I’ve always loved Final Fantasy and taking games on the road, so this is the perfect place to get some great Final Fantasy games. I’m looking forward to other Final Fantasy games as well, such as Final Fantasy VII G-Bike, so there will be a lot to choose from if you enjoy the series. There are other apps and games that I find fun, but these are definitely my favorite games. They are the ones I find myself going to the most often when it comes to gaming on my phone. I can’t wait to see what other great games will be released in the future, but for now these are my top games. What are yours?
