Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is out now!

Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of my favorite horror game series of all time. I’m not particularly great at the games though I do enjoy playing them, and watching other play it on YouTube. I have the first game, the third, the fourth, and a demo of the second. I bought the third game first, the first second, the fourth third, and never got the second game. I know, I did things in an odd way. To me it doesn’t matter if I beat these games in the proper order, since they are so totally different between any one and the other. I just care that I have fun with the games and eventually get around to beating them. Something else I do a bit differently compared to other people is I play in teams on this game. For example, say it’s just my wife and myself at the home. I will play Five Nights at Freddy’s (insert whichever game) until I die, and then hand the game off until she dies, and so on. It’s a fun way to have a somewhat multiplayer feel to the game, with the other person giving you advice on if they saw or heard something you may have missed. It’s different, to be sure, but it’s a fun way to play the games, so if you haven’t tried something like that than I recommend you do. It's Foxy!

But this post is mainly all about telling you how Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 came out over the weekend! It was originally going to come in October, then it was slated for August, so you can imagine my surprise over my vacation weekend that I noticed that the game was available for purchase. So far I’ve had issues with my edition of the game, so I’ve only been able to play through one night successfully, and mostly through the second night. I’m on night 4 now, but that’s because I cheated on accident. One of the times I was going to play night 2 I had to shut the lid of my computer right as the night was starting. I came back to the computer later to check something and it had advanced me all the way to 6 am and through the night. I figured since the game kept killing me because of glitches (flashlight not working, won’t let me shut doors, etc) that I was owed a night. But then the next night didn’t play or work either. So I did the cheat again, this time on purpose, and it worked. So I will have beaten the game soon! Outside of the issues, however, this game is great. The graphics are good, the atmosphere is scary as hell, easily the scariest of the others, at least to me, since it’s at your home. That takes the creepy factor to entirely new heights. You check the bed behind you in the room you’re in, the closet, and two doors on either side of the room. You use your flashlight to see where somebody is and possibly to scare them away. If the enemies are too close to the door however the flashlight will ensure you an instant death, so be sure to get to the doors and wait a good 2 to 3 seconds, listening for breathing sounds or sounds in general. If you hear sounds you want to shut the door, if not then the light is fine.

Sadly I can’t give much advice or help on the extras on the game since my version is a load of crap at the moment, but what little did work did just fine, and I’m sure patches in the future will help out even more. I’ve read that the Android version is doing better overall so I may just hand out the $3 to get that version and have it portable. But keep these tips in mind when playing: When in the room check the bed often, not letting things go from bad to worse there. You’ll see what I mean when you play. Don’t just spam the flashlight as you go to the doors, as easy as that may be. You can earn some instant deaths, which I had to deal with when my game was actually working. Be patient and make your move from there. And when Foxy gets in the closet be sure to check it with your light, shut the door for a few seconds, check again and so forth until Foxy becomes a cute little plush toy. You’ll be good from there. (My Foxy advice is based on YouTube and not my own experiences, but I figured it was still good to share since I would have already experienced that if my game wasn’t giving me a fit). My advice is limited to that, and based on how the game goes in the future, some of this may be completely obsolete, but for my distance this works and it’ll work for you. So what are you waiting for!? Get out there and buy it today! If/when the game works it’s a blast so I definitely recommend it!
