Okay so I finally got all the way through (story wise mind you) Digimon World Cyber Sleuth and I loved the game so much, so much! It was a good game, had good length, had great depth, and had me really thinking deeply about the end and all sorts of things afterwards and I’m so happy about that, it’s a game that keeps on giving even after the credits roll through and I love that, and that doesn’t include the badass secret bosses that are really hard, like way above anything I’ve seen yet from the main game. *shudder* Those guys are tough. But I decided that since I liked the game so much that I’d play again, this time with a rule I learned that some people do with Pokemon games!
I’ve heard it called the Nuzlocke challenge and there are several rules to it. Well I didn’t want to do a step by step copy of the system so I figured I’d do my own personal challenge that fits in the same spirit in a way. I’ve heard one of the main rules is that if your Pokemon (which you have to nickname to make more personal) dies you have to send them away, they are lost forever. So if I lose a Digimon from my party I’ll be sending them off once and for all, and if my full team ever dies I’ll completely restart.
I won’t be capturing/coding any of my new Digimon since the new game plus allows me to keep my party from my last game, so I’ll take those 11, and only those 11, with me as I go. I’ll Digivolve and De-Digivolve them as needed but if they ever fully die then they are out for sure, leaving me with 10 if 1 dies in a battle. No more new Digimon will take over if those die, until I either complete the ultimate bonus battles or die trying. It’ll be a long time playing to get to those guys again but still I was inspired by this idea and wanted to do a Digi-version of it, so why not? I’ll certainly keep you posted on how it goes!
