Digimon All-Star Rumble.

This is a great time to be a gamer, especially if you enjoy brawlers. Look no further than the recently released 3DS Smash Bros to see what I mean. To make things even better the Wii U Smash Bros comes out this month! Nintendo will also be releasing their amiibo figures that’ll interact with Smash and other games. That last part doesn’t excite everybody, but the point is that there are a lot of cool games and products coming out very soon. I’d be willing to bet that Smash Bros on the Wii U will become its best sold game within a few months, if that long. But Smash Bros isn’t the only character brawler coming out this month. Yes indeed, the Digimon series will have its third such game coming out as well on the 11th in North America. But will it hold up against Smash? In short, no. Never going to happen. The Smash series has too many fans and too strong of a history for a new Digimon game to take it over. But it does look like it’ll be a solid fighting game, and I love Digimon, so it’s nice to see a new game come Digimon Rumbleout for the series.

This is their third main fighting game after Digimon Rumble Arena and Digimon Rumble Arena 2. It is for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and it looks very nice overall. Graphics don’t necessarily make a game but it’s always nice to look good. This game also has a story mode. Basically there is a Digimon Tournament going on in the game but there is a secret agenda going on behind the scenes. Each character will have their own story segments in the game (somewhat similar to PS All Stars) and you’ll be challenged by Digimon rivals as you progress through the story and you need to beat them to advance. There are 12 base characters in the game which becomes technically 32 when you count Digivolved forms. I think that’s exciting and it really does look like it’ll be a fun game. It’ll fly under the radar compared to Smash Bros, that’s almost a fact no matter how great the game looks or may be. But I count myself as one who really wants it and having at least a bit of story to look forward to helps. I love games like these that give you something to aim for in completing the game.
